Penn State's Department of Geography is committed to excellence in a full range of geographic skills with outstanding faculty who work closely with students to help them reach their full intellectual and professional potential. We have tremendous breadth and depth in graduate academics. We have both resident and online graduate and professional students pursuing degrees and certificates ranging from GIS to spatial data to geospatial intelligence analytics and more.
Most qualified applicants to our graduate studies programs are strongly supported, both via faculty involvement and financial assistance. As a graduate student in EMS, you may be eligible for a number of assistantships and fellowships. These are awarded to exceptional candidates on a merit basis by individual academic departments.
Graduate Student organizations and clubs help you get involved on and off-campus, meet other graduate and professional students, and further your personal and professional interests. There are many graduate student organizations, representing a wide array of social, cultural and academic interests.
