The Penn State Climate Consortium has awarded funding to four research projects through its Climate Solutions Accelerator Program.

The Penn State Department of Geography will host Meredith Alberta Palmer, assistant professor in the Department of Geography and the Department of Indigenous Studies at the University at Buffalo, for its fall 2024 Coffee Hour lecture series.

The NIH’s National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities has awarded Zhenlong Li, associate professor in Penn State’s Department of Geography, a two-year, $399,391 grant to study how environmental factors contribute to obesity, particularly in racial and ethnic minority communities.

Penn State’s Earth and Environmental Systems Institute (EESI) will host a two-part celebration to honor the career of Alan Taylor, professor emeritus of forest ecology. 

The Penn State Department of Geography will continue its fall 2024 "Coffee Hour" lecture series with a talk by Anne Bonds, professor of geography and urban studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
